If you’re already set up a block list and call blocking rules, you can add phone numbers to the block list in 3 easy steps:

Step 1: Log into admin portal, open main telephone number subscriber account
  • Log into admin portal
  • Click on ALL LINES
  • Find the entry for your main telephone number, and click on actions / view individual settings. User commportal window for main telephone number subscriber account opens.

Step 2: Create a contact for the telephone number you wish to block.

  • If you’re not already in the CONTACTS window, click on the CONTACTS item on top menu bar.
  • Click on NEW CONTACT button.
  • Enter name and telephone number of contact to be blocked, then click SAVE.

Step 3: Assign the contact you created in step 2 to the BLOCK LIST.

  • Find the contact you just created, select it, and click EDIT.
  • Scroll to the bottom of all of the fields until you see MEMBER OF, and click on the BLOCK LIST checkbox.
  • Scroll back to the top and click SAVE.

If you haven’t yet set up a block list or call blocking rules, here is how in 3 easy steps:

Step 1: Create a Block List contact group.

  • Open up the main telephone number account as described in step 1 of the instructions above.
  • Click on CONTACTS item on top menu bar.
  • Look for a group named BLOCK LIST. If already present, skip this step.
  • Click on the NEW GROUP button.
  • Enter “BLOCK LIST” for the group name, and click SAVE.

Step 2: Create rule to block specific callers during business hours

  • Click on GOTO CALL MANAGER button
  • Click on RULES tab.
  • Click on NORMAL set of rules at left.
  • Insure that there is not already a block list rule present. A block list rule will read “When I receive a call from Block list, play a reject message and reject the call.” If this rule is already present, skip the rest of this step.
  • Click ADD NEW RULE button
  • Click A GROUP OF CONTACTS, and then select the group named BLOCK LIST, then click NEXT.
  • Click PLAY A REJECT MESSAGE AND REJECT THE CALL and then click FINISH.
  • Back at main RULES window, click APPLY.

Step 3: Create a rule to block specific callers during non-business hours

  • If not already in the CALL MANAGER / PHONE STATUS window, click GOTO CALL MANAGER button.
  • Click on CLOSED set of rules at the left.
  • Insure that there is not already a block list rule present. A block list rule will read “When I receive a call from BLOCK LIST, play a reject message and reject the call.” If this rule is already present, skip the rest of this step.
  • Click ADD NEW RULE button
  • Click A GROUP OF CONTACTS, and then select the group named BLOCK LIST, then click NEXT.
  • Click PLAY A REJECT MESSAGE AND REJECT THE CALL and then click FINISH.
  • Back at main RULES window, click APPLY.
Individual users can also block phone numbers from their direct telephone numbers. The procedure is different from the main telephone number and there are two configurations, one for standard call manager, and one for business call manager. Here are instructions for STANDARD CALL MANAGER:
  1. User should log into their user commportal, or if being completed by the administrator, log in as administrator and then open the desired user account by click on the ACTIONS drop down arrow to the right and selecting VIEW INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS.
  2. If logged in as a user, you should already be at the call manager screen. If logged in via administrator portal, click on the GOTO CALL MANAGER button.
  3. Click on the SCREENING tab.
  4. Click onb the SELECTIVE REJECTION item.
  5. Click on REJECT CALLS IF THEY ARE FROM SELECTED CALLERS.
  6. Click on EDIT LIST. ADD NEW contacts. Click OK when finished. Then click on APPLY.

Here are instructions for BUSINESS CALL MANAGER:

  1. User should log into their user commportal, or if being completed by the administrator, log in as administrator and then open the desired user account by click on the ACTIONS drop down arrow to the right and selecting VIEW INDIVIDUAL SETTINGS.
  2. If logged in as a user, you should already be at the call manager screen. If logged in via administrator portal, click on the OPEN CALL MANAGER button.
  3. Click on REJECT SELECTED.
  4. Click on the REJECTION LIST LINK.
  5. Enter phone number, click ADD NEW, then click OK.
  6. Click APPLY when returned to main call manager screen.
